Fotografija Kruh naš svagdanji paradigmatski je obrazac manire zagrebačke škole, a ujedno i najljepši primjer poetskog realizma u hrvatskoj fotografiji. Pokazuje dosljednost autora kao teoretičara i u vlastitom djelu.
August Frajtić (Bileća, 1902. – Buenos Aires, 1977.) bio je istaknuti organizator zagrebačkog fotoamaterskog pokreta i umjetnički fotograf. Srednju školu polazio je u Zagrebu i Karlovcu, gdje je maturirao 1919. Godine 1945. odlazi u Italiju, zatim u Buenos Aires, gdje ostaje do kraja života. Godine 1932. počinje pisati programatske članke u stručnom fotoamaterskom tisku. U veljači 1933. s grupom mladih fotoamatera započinje reorganizaciju Fotokluba Zagreb u smjeru stvaranja jake fotoamaterske organizacije. Na Prvom međunarodnom fotoamaterskom kongresu u Beču 1938. izabran je za potpredsjednika novoosnovane Međunarodne fotoamaterske unije. Godine 1940. osniva i uređuje časopis Savremena fotografija, stručno glasilo zagrebačkog Fotokluba. Kao aktivni izlagač pojavljuje se na izložbama od 1932. do 1944. godine. Pod njegovim idejnim vodstvom i odgojnim radom unutar same udruge iniciran je zajednički rad na iznalaženju i stvaranju nacionalnog stila u umjetničkoj fotografiji. He went to secondary school in Zagreb and Karlovac, where he graduated in 1919. In 1945 he left for Italy and then to Buenos Aires, staying there for the rest of his life. In 1932 he began to write programmatic articles in the specialised amateur photography press. In February 1933, with a group of young amateur photographers, he started the reorganisation of Fotoklub Zagreb, with the intention of creating a strong AP organisation. At the first International Amateur Photography Congress in Vienna in 1938 he was elected vice-president of the newly founded International Amateur Photography Union. In 1940 he founded and edited the magazine Savremena fotografija (Contemporary Photography), the journal of Fotoklub Zagreb. He was active in exhibition circles from 1932 to 1944. He was the intellectual leader and educator behind the initiating of common work to find out and create a national style in art photography.
